Rep. Doyle works on blueprint for reviving business

When can businesses open up again in La Crosse, and Wisconsin, and around the country?

Government leaders are working on ideas for reviving the economy after the worst of the coronavirus has passed.

Onalaska legislator Steve Doyle hopes to release such a ‘blueprint for business’ this week.

Doyle says ideas for gradually bringing businesses like restaurants back to full speed could include keeping more space between tables, and initially limiting the customers at a table to people just from one household.

Democrat Doyle, from the 94th District, says the blueprint is being designed with input from many segments of the community, including health experts.

Many people in Wisconsin and elsewhere are protesting extended stay-at-home orders.

Doyle tells WIZM’s La Crosse Talk that some people would like Northern Wisconsin businesses to be reopened first, because that region has had fewer cases of COVID than others, but that could end up attracting visitors from cities hit hard by the virus, including Milwaukee and Chicago.

Rep. Doyle is as clueless as his Governor. Yesterday the May contract for delivery of crude oil traded negative. That’s right you had to pay someone to take it. This is signaling a total collapse of the US economy. I spoke to someone from the Wisconsin Restaurant Association. Ever’s extension of his order to May 26 is going to bankrupt 40% of Wisconsin restaurants. Worse still he and Doyle don’t know what is happening. If they would only listen to people in business they would know. The restaurant’s depend on distributors to deliver food. Those companies have emptied their warehouses. It will be weeks for them to ramp up inventories again. Vegetable crops are rotting in fields. Back to oil being less than worthless. Those delivery trucks are not running. The cure is now worse than the disease. People not getting needed healthcare at hospitals, suicides and soon mass bankruptcies. These small businesses will be gone for good and the jobs they provided won’t come back for a while.
