Winona’s 10 COVID-19 deaths said to have all come from one facility
One long-term senior-care facility is believed to be where all 10 deaths from COVID-19 have come from in Winona County.
Eight were confirmed to have come from Sauer Health Care, Winona County administrator Steve Fritz said, according to the Star Tribune. The two reported Sunday were are likely from there, as well.
To combat the virus, the county said it will be moving healthy residents from that facility to another home.
Winona, which reported no new cases yesterday, is one of three counties with 10 deaths in Minnesota — the second-most in the state. The other two are in the Twin Cities area (Ramsey, St. Louis). Only Hennepin County, where Minneapolis is located, has more, reporting 80 deaths as of Monday.
