Wisconsin’s Tammy Baldwin is one of the Democratic Senators sponsoring a bill to increase production and distribution of supplies needed to test for COVID-19.

During a conference call on Wednesday, Baldwin said there has been ‘chaos’ in the medical supply chain, under President Trump’s leadership.

The ‘Medical Supply Transparency and Delivery Act’ calls for a centralized system for supplying masks and testing supplies to doctors and hospitals, and a civilian expert would be put in charge of the supply system.

Baldwin, Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer, and Sen. Chris Murphy of Connecticut introduced the bill.

Baldwin says the bill is aimed at ‘unlocking’ the Defense Production Act, to increase the amount of medical equipment needed to respond to coronavirus.
