Winona County records 15th COVID death

Winona County’s death toll from COVID-19 has now risen to 15, with one new death reported Thursday, but no new cases.

The latest death was one of 24 recorded around Minnesota today, bringing the state toll to 343. 

It’s the first time since Sunday that Minnesota had reported more than 20 coronavirus deaths in a single day. 

Winona County continues to have the highest COVID death total in the state outside of the Twin Cities metro area.          

A single-day record of 492 new cases in Minnesota was confirmed today, bringing the state’s grand total above 5000.
