Suspect in La Crosse police shooting withdraws guilty plea in meth case
Just three months after pleading guilty to a meth crime in La Crosse County, Allen Kruk has withdrawn that plea.
Kruk is the La Crosse man accused of shooting a city policeman during a domestic incident last August, and is scheduled to go on trial for attempted murder this summer.
The meth arrest happened less than a month before the gun incident, in which Officer Dustin Darling returned fire and shot Kruk five times.
Darling was wearing a protective vest during the confrontation with Kruk, who has been jailed ever since being released from the hospital.
Kruk has been serving an eight-month jail sentence for the drug possession charge.
He also faces charges in Monroe County for burglary, theft, and other crimes.
