After tying a single-day high with five cases yesterday in La Crosse County, there were another four cases of COVID-19 reported today.

All four cases are being investigated, as were two of the five yesterday.

The county total is now 44 cases, with 32 considered recovered, and two are now hospitalized.

Of today’s four cases, three are men in their 20s, 50s and 60s. The oldest is having severe symptoms. The other case is a woman in her 60s.

Both Trempealeau and Vernon counties also reported another case of the virus. Both counties are now at seven total. The Vernon case is a man in his 20s, recovering at home. Four of the seven cases in Trempealeau County are still recovering. No word on if any are hospitalized.

Statewide, after single-digit deaths for four consecutive days, Wisconsin reported 13 today, along with 373 new cases — the third-highest total for a single day in the state.

Minnesota reported another 25 deaths from the virus. There have been 20 or more deaths in nine of the past 10 days and 13 of the past 15.

The state also reported another 523 new cases.

Winona County reported another two cases, bringing its total to 74. No new deaths were reported, so the county remains at 15, with at least 14 of those coming out of the Sauer Health Care senior living facility.

In Iowa, there were 12 deaths and 386 new cases reported. Iowa has seen double-digit deaths now for a third consecutive day for just the second time during the pandemic.

Allamakee County, in the northeast corner of Iowa, has 116 cases of the virus. None of its three surrounding counties in the state have over 28.
