Prisoner in Trempealeau County tests positive for COVID-19

An inmate at the Trempealeau County jail has tested positive for COVID-19, according to that county’s health department.

Sheriff Brett Semingson says everyone arrested in Trempealeau County and brought to the jail is isolated from the rest of the prisoners for 14 days, during the outbreak.

Jail staffers reportedly were all wearing recommended protection when the unnamed inmate was brought in.

The prisoner was arrested by a local police department, and apparently showed symptoms of COVID-19.

As of Saturday, Trempealeau County has had 7 positive cases of the coronavirus.
