La Crosse man gets 7 years in prison for drug trafficking
A Wisconsin federal judge said David Wims of La Crosse was caught selling drugs that he didn’t use himself, and likely knew that selling heroin mixed with fentanyl was dangerous.
The 41-year-old Wims pleaded guilty to drug possession, and is going to federal prison for seven and a half years.
Wims was already on parole for a meth case, when police searched his home on Caledonia Street last June.
That search turned up a mix of heroin and fentanyl inside a safe, in 26 baggies, valued at $13,000.
There was also $5,000 in cash in the bedroom safe.
