Jackson County prisoner’s death is investigated

Jailers in Black River Falls don’t know yet how a 44-year-old prisoner died Thursday while in custody.

The man was pronounced dead at a hospital after jail workers attempted to revive him. 

The Jackson County sheriff’s office says there’s no indication of foul play or criminal activity. 

This death comes a short time after La Crosse County declared that the February death of a La Crosse prisoner was due to natural causes.

 

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
