La Crosse County is now charging two men with a November shooting death on the city’s north side.

Charges of 1st degree murder and harboring a felon were filed on Friday against 35-year-old Odell Thompson of Onalaska.

He’s accused of driving his cousin, Shavonte Thompson, to the Copeland Park area on the night of November 2nd, where Shavonte allegedly shot and killed 18-year-old Javier Hall in an alley.

Odell Thompson has been in the La Crosse County jail since April 3rd, when he was arrested on other charges.

He has a preliminary hearing on the murder charge in early June.

Shavonte Thompson was captured in Illinois in January, but he has not had a preliminary hearing on the murder charge yet.

On Friday, Shavonte’s court-appointed lawyer was allowed to withdraw from the case, and no trial date has been set.
