Galesville man arrested for fatal shooting committed during Twin Cities riots

A Galesville man who owns a pawn shop in Minneapolis is accused of murder in the shooting death of a man during rioting this week. 

Fifty-nine-year-old John Rieple was taken to the Hennepin County Jail Thursday morning, shortly after the shooting outside his Minneapolis business, Cadillac Pawn and Jewelry. 

Jail records show Rieple’s home address as Galesville. 

The man who died, Calvin Horton Junior of Minneapolis, had wounds to his chest and upper body. 

The pawn shop had been looted on Wednesday night, during rioting that followed the Memorial Day death of George Floyd while in police custody. 

Police suspect that the store owner believed Horton was one of the looters.

    So basically, you are saying you cannot defend yourself or your property.
    The government DEFENDS the right of looters to harm and take other people’s property.
