On the first Thursday in June, concertgoers in La Crosse might normally see Bill Miller perform a Moon Tunes show at Riverside Park.

There was no concert this Thursday night, though, since Moon Tunes is among the local entertainment programs suspended for now because of COVID-19.

Organizer Terry Bauer is hoping to get the weekly concert series going in July.

Meanwhile, Bauer is overseeing the final touches of renovations at the park bandstand, including construction of a wooden bandshell over the stage.

Last summer, the Moon Tunes shows were performed on a temporary stage because of the bandstand renovation work.

The Moon Tunes schedule of Thursday concerts normally goes from the first week of June to September.
