One of two charged in La Crosse armed robbery gets prison term

One of two brothers charged in a north La Crosse holdup has pleaded no contest, and is going to prison. 

Justin Ellis was convicted Wednesday, after reaching a plea agreement on an armed robbery charge. 

The 33-year-old and his brother, Timothy Ellis, are accused of robbing Sean Moore at gunpoint outdoors on a chilly January day last year. 

The victim identified Justin Ellis as one of the robbers by a cross tattoo on Justin’s neck. 

Justin will serve a two-year prison term. 

He’s already behind bars for a burglary committed in Milwaukee County, also last year. 

Timothy Ellis also is accused of firing a bullet into Moore’s parked car during the holdup, and is scheduled for trial next month in La Crosse.
