FILE - Timothy and Justin Ellis in court back in February 2019.

One of two brothers charged in a north La Crosse holdup has pleaded no contest, and is going to prison.

Justin Ellis was convicted Wednesday, after reaching a plea agreement on an armed robbery charge.

The 33-year-old and his brother, Timothy Ellis, are accused of robbing Sean Moore at gunpoint outdoors on a chilly January day last year.

The victim identified Justin Ellis as one of the robbers by a cross tattoo on Justin’s neck.

Justin will serve a two-year prison term.

He’s already behind bars for a burglary committed in Milwaukee County, also last year.

Timothy Ellis also is accused of firing a bullet into Moore’s parked car during the holdup, and is scheduled for trial next month in La Crosse.
