Local gas prices back up to $2

You can find gas selling for as little as $1.60 in some parts of Wisconsin, but not in La Crosse. 

Pump prices in La Crosse County were as low as $1.69 a gallon just three days ago, but around La Crosse, prices have risen as much as 20 cents in a couple of days. 

Now, $1.99 is posted at most stations. 

Three months ago, at the start of the pandemic, the average price in Wisconsin was around $2.30 a gallon, and because of production cuts and a loss in demand, it dipped to around 99 cents at some stations. 

One year ago, the state’s average pump price was $2.80 per gallon.
