Eight more, as La Crosse sees multiple COVID-19 cases 11 consecutive days

La Crosse County reported eight more cases of COVID-19 on Friday. That’s the second-highest total reported in the county.

All eight cases were people in their 20s. The county is now at 109 total, with three now hospitalized and 62 considered recovered.

La Crosse has now had 62 cases in June, including 33 in the past four days. The single-day high in the county is 15, which happened Wednesday. On Tuesday, seven cases were reported.

This is the 14th consecutive day with at least one case, and 11th day with multiple cases. In April, the county went 13 consecutive days without a case (April 11-23).

The only other county with reported cases so far, is Winona County, which actually removed three from its total, after the Minnesota Department of Health learned those individuals resided in other states.

Winona is now back to 84 total.

Minnesota: 29,795 cases, 1,274 deaths
Iowa: 23,337 cases, 643 deaths


Statewide, Wisconsin reported another seven deaths and 320 new cases on Friday. The state reports that 71 percent of the 22,246 infected have recovered.

Minnesota reported 25 deaths and 490 cases Friday. Twelve percent of those tested in Minnesota end up positive for the virus.

Iowa reported three deaths and another 381 cases in the past 24 hours, beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday. The positive test rate in Iowa is 10.9 percent (1 out of 15).

    They had the gettogether fir George flloyd at river fest. Do you think it has to do with that? I’m thinking it does.
