Chancellor optimistic to have 10,000 students back at UWL in fall

The UW System announced this week that it will bring students back to campus in the fall.
The La Crosse campus had already made that proclamation last week, along with Viterbo and Western Tech.
UW-L Chancellor Joe Gow says there’s no telling right now how students will feel when they actually return to campus, but he has heard many say they’re eager to come back after several months away because of coronavirus.
Gow says La Crosse has been expecting another record freshman class this year, and predicts that 10,000 students will take classes at UW-L in the fall.
The system says there will be social distancing, and it’s possible that the semester could end in-person classes at Thanksgiving if needed.
