Airport Beach latest to close because of coronavirus

Yet another beach closing in La Crosse, the third this week. 

The city airport has closed the gate on Fisherman’s Road leading to Airport Beach, as of noon today. 

The closing is the latest response to a large increase in local COVID-19 cases during June. 

On Wednesday, the city park department announced that the Pettibone and Black River beaches would be closed until further notice, because some cases of COVID-19 had been traced to people visiting Pettibone.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
