Bandshell work nearly done at Riverside Park

The new Riverside Park bandshell is getting very close to being done. 

Terry Bauer, organizer of the Moon Tunes concert series, is happy with recent work preparing the wooden shell for future live shows, and he tells WIZM’s La Crosse Talk that the acoustics sound good.    

Under normal conditions, Riverfest would be happening two weeks from now in the park, but it has been cancelled for 2020 because of the coronavirus. 

And Moon Tunes would be three weeks into its schedule of Thursday night music performances, but Bauer says there might not be any Moon Tunes shows until August.      

 

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
