Two drivers hurt in car-truck crash near Sparta

Two drivers have been injured in a weekend crash on Highway 21 in Monroe County, outside Sparta.

On Saturday afternoon, a car pulled out from Gillette Avenue in Angelo in front of a pickup truck which was traveling on Highway 21, and the truck hit the driver’s side of that car.

The driver of the car had to be extricated by the Sparta Fire Department, and was transported by ambulance for treatment.

The truck driver also was removed from the scene by ambulance.

Highway 21 was blocked for about 40 minutes after the collision.
