A cash bond of $50,000 has been set in La Crosse County for a 20-year-old man accused of repeatedly strangling a woman.

Bouquet

Christian Bouquet was arrested earlier this week, and faces about 40 criminal charges.

The 20-year-old is accused of choking his girlfriend on, at least, four occasions.

He’s scheduled back in court on July 20.

Prosecutor Danielle Kranz requested the high bond, because of charges that Bouquet has been violent toward the female victim in the case.

The victim asked the court not to let Bouquet out of jail, because she is “scared” for her life.

Bouquet had been wanted on an arrest warrant from another county for about a year and a half.
