Five new COVID deaths in two days in Minnesota

Five people have died from COVID-19 in Minnesota in the last two days, marking 16 days in a row where the daily death total was below 15.

The state reports 519 new cases since Friday, bringing the total for Minnesota to 38,136.

Of the new cases reported Sunday, there are two each in Winona County and Fillmore County.

Winona County has a total of 124 cases, with 15 deaths.

Fillmore has 30 total cases, and Houston has 25.

Houston County still has the lowest number of coronavirus cases among any Minnesota county along the Iowa border.

Sunday’s figures for Minnesota reflect both July 4th and 5th.
