The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office was called to a fatal traffic accident on State Road 35 near Bemis St. in the Town of Trempealeau around 4:43 Thursday morning.

The accident involved a truck and a car. The driver of the truck, 39-year-old Micah Harris of Trempealeau, was transported to a local hospital but is expected to survive. The woman in the car, 57-year-old Monica Knepper of Trempealeau, was pronounced dead at the scene.
