Two area drivers in their 50’s have been hurt in separate weekend accidents, in different counties.

Near Stoddard, 54-year-old Kao Vang of La Crosse went around a ‘road closed’ sign into a construction area on Highway 35.

Vang’s vehicle overturned after hitting a pile of gravel, and landed on its wheels on cement forms lying next to the road.

Vang was taken to Gundersen in La Crosse to be treated for minor injuries.

Vang’s crash happened around 6 o’clock Saturday morning, about the same time of a rollover crash in Trempealeau County.

Fifty-eight-year-old Robert Hinrichs of Osseo missed a curve on a road south of Osseo while driving a utility vehicle.

The vehicle went down a steep ditch, and Hinrichs was trapped underneath it for several hours, according to sheriff’s officers.

Emergency crews were sent to the scene after neighbors heard the victim yelling for help.
