Football, basketball camps among functions leading to COVID-19 outbreak in Winona County

A couple football and basketball camps, among other things, has health services in Winona County concerned about COVID-19 virus spread.

Outbreak in Winona and Lewiston, Minn., through contract tracing was brought up Friday by Winona County Health and Human Services, which also confirmed three new COVID-19 cases to the now 257 total.

The department is asking people to get tested and quarantine for two weeks, if they were at any of the following functions:

— July 27, 2020: football camp in the morning and basketball camp in the evening at Lewiston-Altura High School

— July 28, 2020: football camp in the morning and basketball camp in the evening at Lewiston-Altura High School

— July 29, 2020: 7-on-7 football at Paul Giel Field in Winona.

— July 30, 2020: Evening basketball camp at Lewiston-Altura High School.

— July 26, 2020: An unorganized game of basketball at “Crossings” (Crossings Center, 170 S Fremont St. Lewiston, MN 55952)

— July 30, 2020: Another unorganized basketball game at Crossings in Lewiston.

— July 29, 2020: Lewiston Farmers Market. (There is a potentially lower risk of transmission at this event)
