La Crosse airport doubles passenger load from June
Air travel through La Crosse is continuing to bounce back from a severe drop at the start of the COVID-19 outbreak.
The La Crosse airport counted almost 3000 passengers on commercial flights in July.
That’s more than double the passenger numbers from the month before (1399), but still only about one-third of the volume they had in July of 2019, when 9300 people flew through LSE.
The passenger total so far in 2020 is just over 24,000, which is roughly one-fourth of the people who flew through La Crosse all of last year.
The passenger level at the La Crosse airport was down to only 372 people for the month of April, down 95 per cent from the same month last year.
But since April, the volume has generally doubled month after month.
August was the airport’s best month last year, with over 10,000 passengers on scheduled flights.
