Plea hearing expected this month in police-involved shooting in La Crosse

A plea hearing has been scheduled later this month for the La Crosse man accused of shooting a city police officer last year during a domestic incident. 

Allen Kruk’s hearing on an attempted murder charge is set for August 25th, before Judge Ramona Gonzalez. 

Kruk and Officer Dustin Darling exchanged gunfire during a police call to a 9th Street home in August of last year. 

Darling was wearing a protective vest. 

Kruk was hospitalized for several days after he was shot by the officer. 

Kruk is charged with attempted murder and two other counts in the incident.    

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
