A Gays Mills man is sentenced to six-and-a-half years in federal prison for possessing meth.

Travis Johnson has entered a guilty plea in U.S. District Court on the charge resulting from an arrest in Crawford County last November.

Johnson attempted to hide from a sheriff’s deputy after being followed for driving erratically in Soldiers Grove.

After Johnson stopped his SUV, he tried to hide on a patio outside a house.

The deputy found Johnson carrying a large plastic bag containing more than 160 grams of meth.

Drug needles, paraphernalia, and mushrooms were discovered inside the SUV.
