La Crosse police want help in gunfire cases
La Crosse police are seeking help from the public in tracking down whoever has been firing guns around the city in recent days.
Police Sergeant Tom Walsh tells WIZM’s La Crosse Talk that security videos at homes could be helpful in finding the shooters responsible for gunfire Monday night in the area of 5th and Mississippi, and over the weekend on Avon Street.
So far, no injuries have been reported from the recent incidents.
Walsh is hoping for public assistance in tracking the shooters “who obviously have no regard whatsoever for people’s lives, for people’s areas that they live, the quality of life. They have no regard for any of that, and they’re just willing to go out and shoot up these neighborhoods.”
Walsh says the police treat random shootings very seriously.
