Man accused of choking teen in West Salem

A West Salem man is accused of trying to choke the teenage son of his girlfriend during a fight. 

Forty-three-year-old Keith Hudson is charged with physical abuse of a child, and strangulation. 

The teenager told police that he and Hudson got into an argument on Thursday about taking out the garbage. 

Hudson allegedly punched the boy in the stomach, and the boy hit back with a broom. 

Then, Hudson allegedly choked the teen for a few seconds. 

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
