Pickup driver killed in La Crosse County crash

La Crosse County has now matched its highway death toll from last year, following a pickup truck crash near Holmen on Saturday. 

A pickup driven by a Trempealeau woman, 36-year-old Rhianna Arentz, hit a tree after going off County Highway T and rolling over. 

Arentz was killed in the crash, while a passenger in the truck, Brian Wiste of Trempealeau, had non-life threatening injuries. 

The accident occurred shortly before 5 a.m. on Saturday. 

The county has had five traffic deaths so far in 2020, the same as the total for last year. 

In the past 5 years, La Crosse County has averaged seven highway deaths a year.
