La Crosse up 79 COVID-19 cases; Wisconsin reports highest newly hospitalized since April
Another 79 cases Tuesday of COVID-19 in La Crosse County, according to the health department.
State data shows the county now at 2,698 total cases. No new hospitalizations in the county Tuesday. The total remained at 68.
The county is still averaging 114 cases per day the past week.
Winona County added just two cases Tuesday, bringing its total to 853.
After adding 22 cases Monday, Trempealeau County added nine more Tuesday, bringing its total to 569.
Monroe County added 11 cases Tuesday and now has a total of 419. It is now averaging 12.4 cases a day the past week.
Two days after its first death, Vernon County reported another seven cases Tuesday, bringing the total to 182. There are 43 active cases in the county, but none hospitalized.

Wisconsin: 104,170 cases, 6,765 hospitalizations, 1,251 deaths
Minnesota: 91,422 cases, 7,253 hospitalizations, 1,979 deaths
Iowa: 81,674 cases, 1,293 deaths
Statewide, Wisconsin reports another 1,672 cases, 73 hospitalizations and seven deaths.
That’s tied for the second-most hospitalizations since reporting began. There were 77 on April 7, just a couple weeks into the state reporting stats.
Minnesota added 513 cases, 54 hospitalizations and 10 deaths. It’s the ninth time the state has had over 50 hospitalized in a day since August.
Iowa data shows 668 more cases and nine deaths through Tuesday.
The U.S. also went over the 200,000-death mark Tuesday (200,814 total). Brazil has the second-most deaths from the virus (138,105), while India is third (90,020), according to John Hopkins data.
