La Crosse Police just said around 6 p.m. they were acting on a search warrant, as some social media posts in the area were alarmed that someone with an “AK” may be walking around the Winnebago Street-17th Street area.

La Crosse Police dispatch just confirmed everything is OK.

“That’s us, we’re out there,” dispatch said. “That would be a police officer, the officers have the guns. They’re doing a follow up. Everything’s under control. There’s nothing to worry about.”
