The La Crosse Airport continues to see a rise in commercial travel, following a sharp drop in the spring because of the pandemic.

The airport says 4086 passengers took scheduled flights in and out of La Crosse in September, the highest monthly total since 7195 in February.

The September number is up about 4 per cent from August, and represents just over 50 per cent of the passenger total (an even 8000) from the same month in 2019.

The total number of air passengers through La Crosse so far this year is 32,347…a mark which was reached in May of last year.

For the first nine months of 2019, the airport had 71,509 passengers, with the peak travel months of 8000 riders or more happening from May through October.
