For those who wish to get a free COVID-19 test, there is one open five days a week in Winona.

The Minnesota Department of Health’s COVID-19 site is at the Winona Mall (map).

It’s open 12-7 p.m. Wednesday-Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Appointments are encouraged through provider ValutHealth (click here to make one), but walk-ins are welcome.

You will be administered a saliva test (more info here). You must not eat, drink, chew or smoke anything for at least 30 minutes before taking the test.

The door is kind of hidden, but it’s at the south-west corner of the Winona Mall. Below is the exterior door. Park near the new License Center and you’ll be in the right area.
