Haunted Mile planners hope to do event again
About 4000 people saw it last weekend.
Many others waited for their chance, and long lines of cars filled several La Crosse streets as a result.
The very first Haunted Mile at Pettibone Park on October 24th is considered a huge success by organizers, including the Onalaska Jaycees, who are talking about ways to make it even better in the future.
Abby Heilman worked on it for the La Crosse park department, and says the visitors to Haunted Mile contributed over a thousand food items for local pantries.
One potential improvement being discussed is to put on the event for more than just one night.
About 13-hundred cars actually drove the special path through Pettibone last Saturday, to watch scary scenes portrayed by actors.
Heilman says the planners of the Haunted Mile are ‘super happy’ with the first-year success.
