Wisconsin’s longest-tenured Congressman, Kind beats Republican Van Orden

Since 1997, Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District has belonged to Ron Kind.

That didn’t change after Tuesday’s election.

The Democratic Congressman defeated Republican challenger Derrick Van Orden. With 99.34 percent of the votes reporting, Kind had a 198,477-187,029 lead — taking 51.5-percent of the vote.

In La Crosse County, Kind received 60.2 percent of the vote (40,473 total), while Van Orden got 39.7 percent (26,676).
