Wisconsin DNR Conservation Warden faced arrest for going armed while intoxicated
A 9-1-1 hangup in Juneau County led to the arrest of a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Conservation Warden early Thursday morning in rural Camp Douglas.
The incident began with a hangup call after an argument between a husband and a wife. It did not rise to the level of a mandatory arrest for domestic violence, but the investigation did uncover probable cause to arrest the husband, Michael R. Weber, 30, according to a release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
The Juneau County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office because of a conflict of interest with the department. Weber was arrested for going armed while intoxicated, which is a Class A Misdemeanor.
Because of COVID-19 protocols, Weber was not taken into custody and transported to jail. The misdemeanor charge as well as disorderly conduct will be referred to the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
