La Crosse surpasses 8,000 total COVID cases with 105 more Sunday

Another 105 cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, putting La Crosse County over 8,000 total.

La Crosse is now averaging 95.9 cases a day the past week. The positivity rate for those tested was 34.6% over that time. The county’s total positivity rate is 16.5%.

La Crosse County now has a total of 8,011 cases, while Winona is up to 2,769, after another 31 Sunday. Houston County added 21 cases and is at 698 total.

Statewide, Wisconsin added another 3,831 cases, 117 hospitalizations and 22 deaths.

Of those tested in Wisconsin over the past week, 28.7% were positive, according to DHS. 

According to the Wisconsin Hospital Association, there were 1,814 hospitalized with the virus as of Sunday. A total of 16,999 people have been hospitalized due to the virus — 4.4% of all positive cases. 

Minnesota added 8,953 cases, 220 hospitalizations and 57 deaths. The state’s total positivity rate is now 10.2%.

Over the past week, Wisconsin is averaging 4,289.3 cases per day to Minnesota’s 6,124.6.

Hospitalizations over that time: Wisconsin 168.0, Minnesota 244.9.

The average deaths per day in each state: Wisconsin 43.1, Minnesota 48.1.
