After the spring elections of 2021, Jackson County will have two circuit judges for the first time.

In April, voters will pick a judge for the newly-created Branch 2, and Jackson County DA Daniel Diehn has already announced as a candidate for the job.

Diehn ran for circuit judge in 2015, and lost to the county’s only current judge, Anna Becker, who is seeking another term in April.

Jackson County will join the list of area counties with multiple judges, which includes Juneau County with 2, Monroe County with 3, and La Crosse County with 5 circuit judges.

A second branch of circuit court was approved for Jackson County earlier this year, and the winner of the Branch 2 election will take office in the summer of 2021.
