Trump campaign may have accidentally paid La Crosse police for Pence rally — still owes $10k from 2016
It looks like Donald Trump’s campaign came through for the La Crosse Police Department — perhaps accidentally.
The Trump campaign paid police $5,574.10 but the campaign wouldn’t say if that payment was intentional, according to Business Insider, which added “At least 15 other cities have tried – and failed – to make the Trump campaign pay police and public safety bills stemming from Make America Great Again political rallies.”
The payment to La Crosse police was for Vice President Mike Pence’s Labor Day campaign rally at Dairyland Power. La Crosse Assistant Police Chief Rob Abraham confirmed it was paid.
Trump’s 2016 campaign still owes La Crosse police a total of 9,904.18 — $6,308.93 to the Donald J. Trump for President campaign for Trump’s Aug. 15-16, 2016 visit, as well as another $3,595.25 for a Pence rally on Aug. 11, 2016.
Abraham told Business Insider that campaigns typically “don’t want to ever pay for anything, even though they collect millions of dollars in donations. The local taxpayers get stuck paying the bill.”
For the record, Hillary Clinton did make a campaign stop to La Crosse on April 5, 2016, and was billed just over $3,000, La Crosse Police Captain Jason Melby told WIZM.
“According to our records, we did receive payment for that presidential campaign visit,” Melby said.
Then-House Speaker Paul Ryan also owes city police $225 from a bus tour dated Dec. 31, 2016.

It seems it takes only a gaggle of ghettofied, ” Karens” to collectively file a claim without any proof to have it stick to an individual with mental health challenges, an Associates Degree,3 children all attending college and a 20 year history of living peacefully there with no prior criminal record. That is the LA Crosse police for you and that is also how it works in the Schu homes. My sister is a 50 year old East Indian and African American woman.
