The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office invited the community to attend a virtual memorial service for K-9 Deputy Sheriff “Myk” Wednesday at 3:00.

Myk worked his final patrol shift Nov. 27 with his partner, Deputy Mark Bellacero at his side. He was recently diagnosed with cancer and passed away in his sleep Dec. 2. He was 10-years and seven-months old.

The live broadcast will be active by 2:30 p.m. The honor Guard will post colors at 2:50 p.m., and the service will start at 3:00 p.m.

A recording will be rebroadcast on Vernon Communication Cooperative community channels.

Kaitlyn Riley’s passion for communications started on her family’s dairy farm in Gays Mills, Wis.
