Two candidates in running for new court branch in Jackson County

There are now two candidates for a new circuit court seat being created in Jackson County. 

Robyn Matousek has announced as a candidate for judge in the new Branch 2. 

Matousek is a former area prosecutor who placed 3rd in a primary for Jackson County judge in 2015. 

She would face the candidate who came in 2nd in that election, county district attorney Daniel Diehn. 

The only current judge in Jackson County, Anna Becker, is unopposed for re-election to Branch 1 in April.     

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
