Can we just get through the next eight days?

Can we make it through the next eight days? Tensions in the U.S. have reached a boiling point. We are a nation in crisis, as evidenced by the ugly scene at the U.S. Capitol. The countdown to a new resident is now being measured in hours, not weeks. But there is word that groups of protesters are planning to return to Washington D.C., ready to cause more riots, if President Trump were to be removed from office before the end of his term. The FBI is warning of armed protests, a scene which they warn could also play out at captiol buildings across the country. One group is warning there will be an uprising if the 25th Amendment is invoked. It is time to tamp down the rhetoric. More protests are not going to help. Trying to impeach the President in the waning days of his administration is only adding fuel to the fire. Even if such an effort were to be successful, Trump would not be removed from office before President Biden is inaugurated. We don’t need more protests, and we certainly don’t need more violence. But when groups of extremists threaten to storm government buildings, this time our police are likely to be more ready, and more forceful, than what we saw a week ago.

The fear of riots next week is understandable since back in July, Vice President candidate K Harris on the Colbert show gleefully stated riots were justified and encouraged riots to continue! https://www.air.tv/watch?v=0UyYUVWbQhiJzagCCtI6Jw
