La Crosse Fire Department investigates storage unit fire

The La Crosse Fire Department fought flames at a storage unit Monday morning.

Fire crews were dispatched at 11:30 a.m. to Edwards Mini Storage on the corner of 4th and Winnebago Streets. They had to force entry to apply water to several storage units that were on fire.

There was heavy smoke and fire damage in eight of the units with significant content loss, according to the La Crosse Fire Department.

The fire was brought under control in 20 minutes, and no injuries were reported. The cause and origin of the fire are being investigated.
