Five La Crosse County residents hospitalized, 85 new COVID-19 cases; Winona, Fillmore report deaths
Five more hospitalizations of La Crosse County residents Wednesday due to COVID-19.
It’s the 31st hospitalization this month, and 350th overall.
The county also added 85 cases Wednesday, bringing the daily average the past week to 60.0. A week ago that average was 77, which includes one day with 131 cases.
In surrounding counties, there were two deaths — one in Winona and one in Fillmore.
It was Winona’s 46th — seven in the past month. This is Fillmore’s fourth death. All have come since Dec. 30.

Statewide, Wisconsin added 2,134 cases, 122 hospitalizations and 37 deaths. The state has had 271 hospitalizations the past two days.
Minnesota added 1,504 cases, 87 hospitalizations and 50 deaths. Numbers fairly consistent with the below averages. Deaths are up, but there were a total of 17 the past two days prior.
