Several inches of snow still expected in La Crosse on Thursday, into Friday
The National Weather Service of La Crosse says travel could be impacted for much of Thursday as the city’s snow-less January is about to get dumped on.
Snow had not started in La Crosse, as of 9 a.m. Thursday. No measurable snow has been seen in La Crosse so far in 2021. The latest forecast, however, calls for 4-7 inches Thursday and Friday. The heaviest snowfall could be near Rochester and Austin.
The weather service says the highest amounts could fall from southeast Minnesota into north central Wisconsin, though “confidence remains fairly low on exact storm track, and therefore, final snowfall totals.”
A year ago, La Crosse got eight inches of snow between Jan. 12-18.
