La Crosse is averaging 43.3 cases a day the past week. A week ago, that average was 67.

The death count is the 23rd highest in the country overall and the 32nd highest per capita at nearly 102 deaths per 100,000 people, according to Johns Hopkins University researchers.
For Minnesota, it’s only the third time since early October the state has been under 1,000 cases in a day. It had exactly 980 cases a week ago, and 988 on Dec. 28.
Iowa has now gone back-to-back days with three total deaths, and three consecutive days under 1,000 cases.
