One COVID-19 death, no new hospitalizations in La Crosse County on Wed.
Another COVID-19 death in La Crosse County on Wednesday.
It’s the ninth death of a county resident this month and 68th overall. The most deaths in a month in La Crosse were 21 in December.
There were no new hospitalizations in the county but La Crosse did add another 61 cases Wednesday, bringing the daily average the past week to 37.3. Last week, that average was 68.
In surrounding counties, Monroe did report two COVID-19 deaths Tuesday, bringing the total to 29. It’s the fifth death in the past month, but first since Dec. 19.

Wisconsin’s numbers are fairly close to the seven-day averages listed below.
Minnesota had reported 18 deaths the past two days, and was under 1,000 cases over that span for the first time since October.
Iowa’s death toll comes after going three consecutive days with 11 total deaths.
