Trempealeau Co. offers COVID-19 vaccine to residents 65 and older

Trempealeau County residents 65 and older could have access to the COVID-19 vaccine starting Monday.

The Health Department partnered with Gundersen Tri-County to administer the COVID-19 vaccine following the government’s phased vaccine distribution guidelines. Those who meet the guidelines listen below and wish to receive a vaccine can call the Health Department at 715-538-3826.

The vaccine itself is free, and the administration fee will be covered by insurance or available funding, according to Barbara Barczak, Trempealeau County Health Department Director. She asked those who already contacted the Health Department to be patient as they work to schedule appointments.

The following are currently eligible for vaccination in Trempealeau County:

  • Anesthesia-related team members
  • Behavior health providers
  • Certified nursing assistant, nurse aide, medical assistant
  • Chiropractors
  • Clinical ethicist
  • Dental services
  • Home Health Workers
  • Emergency Medical Responders
  • Health Care Trainees
  • Hospice Workers
  • Nurses working in community settings
  • Long-term Care Facilities Staff and residents age 75+
  • Pharmacist/pharmacist assistant
  • Phlebotomists and laboratory personnel
  • Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioners
  • Physicians
  • Public Health Workers providing vaccines and testing for COVID19
  • Radiologic Technologists
  • Respiratory Therapists
  • Social workers, case management workers
  • Therapy Services (i.e., physical, occupational, speech)
  • Transportation Services provided to transport patients to and from healthcare settings
  • Police Officers
  • Fire Personnel
  • Correctional Officers
  • Coroners/Medical Examiners
  • Funeral staff
  • People age 65 or older
